Long term relationship ends

The print technology company Brother New Zealand has had to look for a new distributor of its products in Fiji and the Pacific region after parting ways with its long-time distributor Telecom Fiji Ltd.

The announcement of the new distributor Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte Ltd was made this week in Suva.

Brother New Zealand managing director Warwick Beban, while addressing the audience via video from Europe, expressed his excitement about the collaboration and its potential for growth and mutual benefit.

“Fiji has been an important idea out of that business for many years. However, we had reached a crossroads in Fiji, we were informed by a long-term distribution partner that our products were no longer considered core business for the future, and we needed a partner to represent us,” Mr Beban said.

“We did consider our products to be core business, we needed a partner who would introduce our full range of products into the market, which will, of course, allow for growth, benefiting all of us.”

Mr Beban said Fiji’s importance to Brother’s business warranted the need for a dedicated partner to represent their full range of products.

He acknowledged the challenges faced with the previous distributor, TFL, which had ceased providing technical and warranty support for Brother products.

“We are extremely concerned at TfL’s behaviour, and we appreciate that you’ve proactively taken on this support for clients,” Mr Beban said to its new partner Pacific Brothers.

The new deal promises 24/7 help desk support and free poll calls for customers.
