ITV producers paused Good Morning Britain to share the news that Tito Jackson had died. He found fame after starting out in the band Jackson 5, and went on to have a successful solo career.

The I Want You Back hitmaker is the brother to the late Michael Jackson. Hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley opened the programme by sharing the shocking news.

“Jackson 5 legend Tito Jackson has died aged 70. Tributes have poured in from across the globe for the brother of the late pop King Michael Jackson, who reportedly passed away after suffering a heart attack while driving,” they said. Before adding: “The music icon and rock and roll inductee was performing with the group as recently as August.”

His three sons Taj, Taryll and TJ Jackson announced the news via a social media post. They shared that their hearts were “heavy” following the devastating announcement.

“It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us,” his sons TJ, Taj and Taryll said in a statement posted on Instagram late on Sunday.
